A Weekend Away at Baker’s Cay | ALOHA Collection

It’s no secret that Team ALOHA loves a resort, so when our friends at Baker’s Cay invited us to do a photoshoot at their Key Largo property, we jumped at the chance to kick off the new year with a little work/play trip down to the Keys! Read on to learn about our incredible stay at their beautiful oceanfront property and our packing guide for the Florida Keys.

What to Pack for 3 Days in the Keys:

Casual is the keyword in Key Largo. Hot tip! It’s HOT in the Keys! Ditch the denim and keep it light. Here’s our fool-proof guide to packing the perfect suitcase:

Swimsuit (we never leave home without one)

Pareo (can be worn as a coverup or casual beach outfit)

Anything linen (our favorite is the Vitamin A linen button down cover-up)

Sundress (we LOVE a good Tiare Hawaii dress for vacays)

Sandals to dress up or dress down

Day Tripper Tote (take as a carry-on or to the cabana)

Small pouch for sunscreen

Mid pouch for post-beach change of clothes

Beach hat, Hemlock Hats are the way to go, (you can even grab one in the Baker’s Cay lobby store!)



After a quick one-hour drive from the Miami Airport, we arrived at Baker's Cay. The resort sits oceanfront on the very first pineapple plantation in the Keys, which was founded by the Baker family.

Fun Fact! Key Largo is the first of the Keys in the island chain. There are 42 bridges in the Archipelago that make up the Florida Keys!

Vacation mode was on the second we walked into our guest rooms. We couldn't get enough of these oceanfront views!


Baker’s Cay has an “Inspired by Nature” foundation and aims to keep its guests rooted in the outdoors. After spending an afternoon swimming through the resorts pool grottos and running between the Tiki Bar and Hammock Beach, we rented bikes from the lobby to explore the bike path that runs along the main highway of Key Largo!

Fun Fact! Key Largo is the dive capital of the world with over 1,000 shipwrecks to explore!

It’s a pineapple party! To pay homage to the Baker family history, the hotel has sprinkled in little touches of pineapples which are hidden throughout the property, so naturally, our team turned this into a fun scavenger hunt!

A special treat was finding out that Baker’s Cay is the country’s first resort to partner with Dock to Dish™, a program designed to reconnect diners with nearby small-scale fishing communities. This helps to provide the highest quality and hyper-local seafood in the most sustainable manner. This is a must-try dining experience when visiting Baker’s Cay!

Afternoon drinks at Dry Rocks consisted of Mexican inspired cocktails which featured infused tequilas and mezcal. (And let’s be honest, Team ALOHA can’t turn down afternoon fish tacos!)

With New Orleans inspired dinners each night at the Calusa restaurant, our team couldn’t leave the table without grabbing a plate of conch fritters and freshly made beignets to finish!

Fun Fact! All the herbs and vegetables used at Baker’s Cay are grown on the resort’s organic rooftop garden.


Between sunset cocktails, tiki cruises, conch fritters, and views of Everglades National Park, we can’t wait to go back and explore more of the Keys!
