Whether you’re cleaning a Splash-Proof® tote, a Keep It Light® Nylon backpack, a pouch, or a lunch box, here are three easy ways to clean your ALOHA Collection bag.

Method One: Wipe

Best for: Quick cleanups, light dirt, daily maintenance

Step 1: Grab a damp cloth or disinfectant wipe (Alcohol-free preferred. Check out product recommendations below.)

Step 2: Wipe down the exterior and interior surfaces.

Step 3:  That's it! You're done.

This is the fastest way to clean your ALOHA Collection bag after a beach day, a gym session, or a spill. The wipe method can be used on both Splash-Proof® and Keep It Light® Nylon.

Method Two: Hand Wash in the Sink

Best for: Deeper cleaning, stains, sunscreen, sand 

Step 1: Turn your bag inside out.

Step 2: Fill the sink with lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild dish soap or hand soap.

Step 3: Gently scrub with a soft cloth or sponge, paying extra attention to stained areas.
Step 4: Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Make sure all soap is removed. 

Step 5: Lay flat to dry. 

Hand washing is the best way to clean a nylon tote bag or Splash-Proof® pouch without damaging the special technical material and print.

Best for: Full cleaning after heavy use, gym bags, school backpacks, or at the end of a trip

Step 1: Turn your bag inside out.

Step 2: Place it in a mesh laundry bag (optional, but recommended to protect zippers and straps from snagging).

Step 3: Set your washing machine to the delicate or gentle cycle with cold water.

Step 4: Add a small amount of mild laundry detergent. No bleach.

Step 5: Lay flat to dry, never use the dryer. Heat can damage the fabric.

Machine washing works for both Splash-Proof® bags and most Keep It Light® Nylon bags.

What NOT to Do 

ALOHA Collection bags are made to be durable, but there are a few things to avoid:

  • Don't use bleach. It can discolor prints and damage the material.

  • Don't use alcohol-based cleaners. It can break down the material.

  • Don't use the dryer. Heat damages the material and warps zippers. 

  • Don't iron your bag. The heat will damage the material.

  • Don't dry clean. The chemicals used in dry cleaning are too harsh.

  • Don't scrub with abrasive brushes. Use a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratching the print.

  • Don't leave your wet bag in a closed space. Always dry in a well-ventilated area to prevent mildew.

Yes, with a few exceptions. All Splash-Proof® bags and most Keep It Light® Nylon bags can be machine washed. Turn the bag inside out, use the delicate cycle with cold water, add mild detergent (no bleach), and always lay flat to air dry. Never use the dryer.
